Numerologists will have a field day when Menu6 opens early next month in the former home of Boulevard Blue (12718 Larchmere Blvd.). The “food-forward” restaurant will feature a menu boasting six categories, each comprised of six items. That numerical formula will extend to both the dessert menu and wine list.
If all this sounds complicated, rest assured that the chef in charge is an old pro at delivering big flavors on plates of all sizes. Not since his Mojo days has Michael Herschman had such creative control of a kitchen. Hired by owner Said Ouaddaadaa, Herschman will offer some familiar treats from his Pacific Rim repertoire. “The menu will be market-driven, allowing me to change it frequently,” explains the chef. Diners will select from sections titled “Raw,” “Hot, Cold, Small,” “Greens,” “Water and Feathers,” and “Land.” Herschman says we can expect “killer steaks, wonderful seafood, and everything in between.” Highlights include prime steak carpaccio, sweet and spicy calamari, seared Asian duck breast, and bone-in rib steak. The space is getting a front-to-back remodel, with the most obvious changes to the bar and dining room.

Thumbs up, Doug...
Glad that I found this.
I hope this place does well.. But there is a bit I would like to share regarding noise levels in restaurants these days...and it looks like this one is about to join the silly bandwagon.
Doesn’t any place offer the opportunity for a quiet evening meal so that you can converse with friends or partners without having to shout over the din of music playing that no one asked for? There is a difference between having tasteful classy background sounds and doing what so many restaurants have done these days; and that is...blaring loud music at their guests under some non-supported idea that it will help turn over their business more or that 'it is what people want' They have all jumped on the bandwagon by doing this and label it with buzz words like "hip", 'Trendy", 'Vibrant", and so on.
Well, not all restaurants are night clubs and I wish operators would stop treating them, OR their guests as though they are. Seriously, how many people do you know who have NOT walked into a restaurant because it was NOT loud enough? But, do you suppose that you might be able to find that there are MORE people who walked out because there was TOO much noise?
It really is an immature band wagon... Please bring back places like "Top-Of-The Town" where background piano music was tasteful...and just that.. IN the background! Again, overkill on everything has become the American way and it is quite obnoxious. Here, it looks as though another restaurant has done copy cat thinking they are being unique. It is really laughable.
By the way...I and many I know actually leave places that chose to impose excessive noise levels on guests.
Top of the Town - now that goes waaayyyyy back !!!
Amazing restaurant especially for those diners that love seafood but are diligent in eat sustainable proteins. Herschman serves no fish unless it caught using sustainable methods and is not an overfished species.
